Job Description

We're seeking a Digital Media Specialist on a part-time contractor basis to plan, execute, and optimize media campaigns for Slingwave's client partners. This is a highly client-facing role where you'll develop innovative paid media strategies across social, search, display, video, audio, and CTV/OTT channels – turning data-driven insights into measurable outcomes for top eCommerce, D2C, and CPG brands. In this role, you'll manage campaigns end-to-end, build strong client and vendor relationships, and translate complex media performance data into clear, actionable recommendations. You'll collaborate closely with analytics and internal teams to ensure campaigns are aligned with client goals and continuously optimized for results. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute & Optimize Paid Media Campaigns: Develop and manage online media strategies across paid social, search, display, video, audio, and CTV/OTT channels – continuously optimizing to meet client KPIs, NorthStar metrics, and budgets.

  • Develop Innovative Media Recommendations: Create and present compelling media plans and POVs that incorporate the latest platforms, channels, and ad technologies tailored to each client's objectives.

  • Build and Maintain Client Relationships: Partner with the specialist, Media and Insights to strengthen client relationships, serving as a reliable and knowledgeable point of contact throughout campaign execution.

  • Deliver Performance Insights: Collaborate with the Analytics team to develop reporting on attribution, ROAS, and media mix performance – generating clear post-campaign analyses delivered via web video conferencing and written reports.

  • Manage Campaign Operations: Oversee media flowcharts, client media authorizations, billing trackers, and status tools in coordination with the specialist, Media and Insights.

  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Monitor emerging ad platforms, new ad technologies, and competitive landscape developments to bring fresh, informed perspectives to client strategies.

  • Support Business Growth: Contribute to new business pitches and help grow Slingwave's client portfolio where needed.

  • Leverage Research & Analytics Platforms: Use syndicated research tools to inform media planning decisions and competitive market analysis.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of digital media planning and buying experience within an agency or client environment.

  • Paid media expertise: Hands-on experience developing and executing media strategies across paid social, search, display, video, and programmatic channels.

  • Platform proficiency: Direct experience with Google Ads and Google Ads Editor (Search, Shopping, YouTube); programmatic platforms including DV360, Amazon DSP, The Trade Desk, GDN, and Campaign specialist; and social platforms including Facebook/Instagram (required) and TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit, Twitter, or Snapchat (preferred).

  • Analytics & measurement fluency: Familiarity with attribution models, ROAS analysis, and media mix performance reporting. Experience with syndicated research platforms such as SpyFu, SEMrush, ComScore, or Helixa is a plus.

  • Client communication skills: Proven ability to present media recommendations and campaign results clearly and confidently to clients across written and video formats.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Experience working with analytics, creative, and internal operations teams to ensure smooth campaign execution and reporting.

  • Exceptional organization: Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize proactively, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Technical proficiency: Strong command of Google Suite and Microsoft Office.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Position Details

Location: Remote / Hybrid (U.S.-based) – preference for New York Metro Area, Minnesota / Greater Twin Cities Metro Area, Bay Area, or Los Angeles, but can be any US location
