Slingwave is seeking an experienced player/ coach Head of Data & Analytics Engineering to help drive the continuing build out of the Slingwave platform.  A successful candidate will have experience automating data flows to allow for streamlined consumption by complex data models, predictive marketing capabilities, and a growing suite of Slingwave SaaS tools. 

 

Required Skills (+ideal years of experience):

  • Python (5+ years)
  • SQL (5+ years)
  • Data Pipeline Tech (3+ years)
    • GCP (Google Cloud Platform), e.g. Cloud Function, Pub/Sub, Vertex AI or AWS equivalents 
    • Dataform / DBT or similar
    • Airflow or similar

Required Skills: Additional Details

  • Architecture Design: Design scalable and resilient data pipelines, storage systems, and analytics platforms that meet the evolving needs of the organization.  
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Work with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) to deploy and manage data infrastructure components.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Establish monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of our data infrastructure.
  • Security and Compliance: Lead and build upon Slingwave’s existing information security efforts, ensuring the protection of the company’s and partners’ data assets and information systems. Assess and mitigate potential security and operational risks. 
  • Documentation and Training: Document infrastructure designs, processes, and best practices, and provide training and support to internal teams as needed.

Additional Skills / demonstrated experience: 

  • Strategic leadership with deep expertise in machine learning, AI, and SaaS/B2B
  • MarTech acumen, including experience with Media Mix Modeling (MMM), Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA), and/or GeoExperiments/ causal analytics
  • Proven UI/UX collaboration with engineering partners for user-centric design
  • Advanced data visualization skills (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau, open source charting libraries)
  • Excellent communicator, bridging technical insights with actionable business impact

This role is open to any U.S. location, requiring strong remote leadership to coordinate effectively across time zones. Compensation will reflect experience and is expected to include cash, equity, and access to Slingwave’s comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401k, and more).
