We’re Hiring – Head of Data & Analytics Engineering
(Full Time, Remote)

Slingwave is seeking an experienced player/ coach Head of Data & Analytics Engineering to help continue the build out of the Slingwave platform.  A successful candidate will have experience automating data flows to allow for streamlined consumption by complex data models and data visualization tools, in addition to a vision and ability to implement Front-End UI/UX improvements around Slingwave SaaS products and model insights.

Required Skills- Additional Details

  • Product Management and Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for both front end (Portal) and back end data infrastructure elements for Slingwave’s core Agile Marketing Attribution, Predictive Marketing Mix, and GeoExperiment products.
  • Architecture Design: Design scalable and resilient data pipelines, storage systems, and analytics platforms that meet the evolving needs of the organization.  
  • GCP Cloud Ops Experience: Technical Proficiency in Cloud Services: Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including cost management, security measures, and scaling practices.  Experience in ensuring reliable and efficient cloud operations.  
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize data pipelines and systems for performance, reliability, and efficiency, identifying and addressing bottlenecks and potential issues.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Establish monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of our data infrastructure.
  • Analytics Front-End, UI/UX  Design: Collaborate with other Directors and extended Slingwave resources and team members to improve presentation of Slingwave model insights to customers.   
  • Security and Compliance: Lead Slingwave’s information security efforts, ensuring the protection of the company’s and partners’ data assets and information systems.  Assess and mitigate potential security and operational risks.  Further build out upon existing cloud-based operations, adhering to industry best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to enhance our data infrastructure, ensuring compatibility, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring SLAs are met.
  • Documentation and Training: Document infrastructure designs, processes, and best practices, and provide training and support to internal teams as needed.

Required Skills (Team Leadership)

  • Direct Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a distributed team of data engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, Directors, and other stakeholders in the Slingwave organization to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.

Additional Notes:

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP – data transfers, cloud storage, cloud functions, scheduled queries, etc).
  • Experience managing ETL processes using SQL, mySQL, and other cloud technologies
  • SaaS Business model experience: Demonstrated experience working in B2B SaaS
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Excellent communicator
  • UI/UX  Design experience a plus
  • AI experience a plus, e.g. Google Vertex AI
  • MarTech / Marketing Analytics and Attribution experience a strong plus- experience with Bayesean structural time-series media mix modeling, multi-touch attribution, and causal impact analytics based primarily in Python and/or R

 

The position can be based in any U.S. location, so long as the Head is a strong remote leader, able to work with their team and client base across time zones.  Compensation will be determined by the experience level of the successful candidate and is expected to include both cash and equity, as well as benefits.
